INTRODUCTION
According to Har vard Business Review (Nov 2016),managing people is a time-consuming task. The top time wasted management items include bad hires, negotiations, unproductive meetings, uninspiring leaders and routinesolutions, etc. Each generation has unique strengths,but their strengths may also be perceived as weaknesses by the other age groups. How can one keep differentgenerations of employees working harmoniously as ateam? How can we develop and retain happy which means productive employees and establish a happyatmosphere at work?
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants and executiveswill know how to manage the five distinct generationscurrently in the workforce. We introduced them in the fi rst post: (a) the Greatest Generation, born before 1945; (b) the Baby Boomers, born from 1946–64; (c) Generation X, born from 1965–79, (d) Generation Y, born from 1980-1997 and (e) the Millennials, born after 1997. Participants and executives can also keep abreast of the problem-solving skills and conflict management skills, supplemented by eff ective performance appraisal skills and creativity knowhow, to handle varieties of people issues.
