INTRODUCTION
We are all individuals and have different personalities and preferences. It is not surprising that we perceive and communicate differently. Our ability to communicate effectively is further hindered because of skills barriers. Thus, it is imperative that we understand the individual’s personality and preferences so that we know how to ‘flex’ or adapt to different styles of communication and respond accordingly. Knowing and be mindful of our own styles and deficiencies help us to avoid practicing receivers’ least preferred styles which will maximise our opportunities to be heard.
This workshop provides a simple way to understand people and their preferences. Such knowledge provides a basis for us to formulate communication styles that are appropriate and easy for the receivers to absorb and comprehend.
