Diploma Programme in Human Resource Management

Introduction
The economy has become more complex and the business environment changes continuously with keen competitions. To sustain their well-being and further development, organizations are all aiming at raising their profits by exploring new business opportunities, minimizing expenses and fully utilizing their limited resources. Human resource is the most valuable and unique asset which represents one of the largest investments in an organization. Effective management of human resource is vital as it will enhance staff productivity and efficiency and hence facilitate organizational performance. The knowledge of acquiring, maintaining, coordinating and utilizing human resource is crucial to the success of an organization. Human resource management has become one of the most significant functions of an organization.

This Programme is therefore designed to provide all-rounded knowledge and skills to participants with interest in the field of human resource management and increase the expertise of practitioners in this discipline. It integrates academic and practical aspects of human resource management and aims to provide participants with up-to-date skills, techniques and information which enable them to make wise decision in managing and developing human resource in the ever-changing business environment.

Objectives
The objectives of this Programme are:
(a)To provide fundamental and comprehensive knowledge and skills to participants who are interested to develop their career in human resource management; AND
(b)To equip existing practitioners with up-to-dateknowledge, and all-rounded practical skills and techniques in human resource management with a view to further developing their career and preparing them for further studies in the related discipline.
